Rolling Rolling Rolling

20 Jul

Morning all!

I had a meeting go late into the night last night, so I am determined to focus, be productive and get home at a reasonable hour today!

My arsenal:

+ granola and some honey.  A very simple, delicious to-go breakfast!

Also – I brought a real coffee mug to my office so I don’t have to drink out of a travel mug every day.  I think the coffee tastes better that way. 🙂

Pleated Poppy‘s What I Wore Wednesday!  It’s been HOT here, so I’ve been getting creative …

Wednesday: Skirt from Loft in NYC (thanks mom!) and shirt from years ago … I don’t remember where.

Thursday: My last day in the office of the week, so I wore jeans.  I love the jeans + jacket combo.

(My office is air conditioned, so I can get away with jeans in the summer!)

On the left: On Sunday night I was making some phone calls from my office and this was what I was wearing.  That morning during church, I wore the top, but dress pants + heels.  Of course, it didn’t matter because I put a robe on – but y’all my robe is hot!  I may have to ditch it for the rest of the summer.

On the right: Monday morning.  White pants, which I love (even though I spend the day terrified I will spill something!

Yesterday: Wear a Dress Tuesday!  ❤

I’m off to tackle my to-do list.  See you later!

Straight From The Garden

13 Jul

Lunch will be free today!

Picking greens & more from the garden is the perfect way to start a day.  How therapeutic!

It’s almost making this heat worth it, ha!

I’ve really been enjoying The Pleated Poppy‘s What I Wore Wednesday.  I am amazed at what happens when I spend a little bit of extra time caring about what I wear.  I feel better and I work better throughout the day.  It’s like Wear a Dress Tuesday every day (and not just dresses!).

I didn’t get a photo every day last week, but here are a few!

The skirt on the top right was my mom’s from years and years ago.  The dress on the bottom right was my (oh my I cannot believe I am going to admit this) high school graduation dress.  Proof that it doesn’t cost much to have a versatile closet!

Speaking of working better throughout the day … I’m off!

To Life!

6 Jul

It’s not even 10:00 and things are already strange around here – see what happens when I take a day off?!

There is no food in our house so this was what I scrounged up for breakfast.  Not the healthiest of options, but better than pop tarts, right?

I wanted to link up with What I Wore Wednesday to show you my hand-me-down new jacket that my aunt gave me this weekend.  I love shopping in other people’s closets!

The necklace and bracelet I am wearing is from an organization called Bead For Life.  Their mission statement:

Check out their website!

And now (because of the name, “Bead For Life”) I’ve officially got the Fiddler on the Roof song, “L’chai-im!” stuck in my head.  Have a great day!

To life! To life! L’chai-im! …

WIWW: Clergy Edition

20 Apr

Guess who hit the snooze button a couple of times and didn’t get out of bed until 7:55 this morning?!

I feel so refreshed!

However, I did not have time to make breakfast at home and make it to my office in time for a 9:00 meeting.  I grabbed it to go – Allie always talks about eating her “daily orange” – maybe I’ll try to sneak one in every day.  You could always use the Vitamin C, right?

My sweet friend Tatiana (and her sweet sidekick Giada!) has been participating in The Pleated Poppy’s, What I Wore Wednesday, for the past couple of weeks and it’s always seemed like fun.  My day to day wardrobe has completely changed since I started working full time – and it’s definitely different during the week (more business casual) than it is on a Sunday morning (usually in a suit).

Today is a Wednesday in the office with no outside meetings.  I’m wear Ann Taylor Loft dress pants, a black tank top layered over a red one and a black shawl from target.  I love the shawl because it’s very long in the front – I love how the flow looks, but it also keeps me warm!

On my feet – 4 inch black heels.  I think most of my congregation thinks that I am much taller than I actually am (keep the illusion, guys!).

Welcome to my office!
I’m pretty sure the previous pastor never used the mirror on the back of the door to take pictures of himself.
Just a guess.
Back to my Easter bulletin!
